SpiderBits
Team 17219
SpiderBits is a sister team to team SpiderByte. Our team was created in 2019 and our goal has been to get more underrepresented genders involved in the STEM field. Some ways we have been working on this goal is by our outreach efforts by reaching out to elementary and middle schools and our mechanism library to share our designs and to get the community involved.
Our team has a vast variety of age groups. The girls on our team range from 11-16 years old. We have opportunities for girls who are not old enough to be officially registered into FTC to participate in our team to learn more about robotics at an early age. This way, when they are old enough to join the team they know how our team works. Anyone who wants to join our team and is ready to learn can join! We spend our summers teaching new members about how FTC works.
